Updated: 6 days ago

Exciting news!

As reported on RadioToday and the ICR FM website, I'm thrilled to have been nominated in the Young Person of the Year (under 25) category in the national Community Radio Awards 2020!

The annual competition's shortlist was whittled down from more than 460 entries from 90 stations from every corner of the UK.

Ipswich Community Radio (105.7fm in Ipswich) saw another presenter in the shortlist too: Stephen Spencer was nominated in the Volunteer of the Year category - well done Stephen!

Martin Steers, awards chair, said: “This year has been a challenge for the sector, but community radio stations have responded by stepping up engagement with their local communities, with more programming and innovative presenters across the country broadcasting from home. It is clear to see from this, that passionate presenters, volunteers, and staff are really there for their audiences. These local radio stations are truly at the heart of their communities.”

If you want to find out more about the awards, you can visit the website here.

You can also view the entire shortlist here.

The virtual awards ceremony is being livestreamed on December the 12th at 7PM on the Community Radio Award YouTube channel and Facebook page.
